Though there are many ways to brew coffee, your individual coffee experience is a personal one. Coffee, more than any other beverage, is subject to the specific tastes of each person. Though we have offered many tips on this Web site with regard to the coffee process, please remember one thing: prepare your coffee as you like it best.

Brewing tips
  1. If possible, start with fresh-roasted, whole bean Boyer’s coffee.
  2. Grind just enough to brew what you will immediately use to preserve flavor and freshness.
  3. Always store remaining beans or ground coffee in Boyer’s bags or another airtight container.
  4. For best flavor, always use fresh, cold tap water or bottled water, as coffee is 98% water.
  5. Start with one tablespoon of coffee per each six ounces of water, modified to your taste.
  6. Always use a clean brewer to avoid the bitter taste of oils and resins.
Drink the coffee while it is fresh.

Freshness
Coffee has a relatively short shelf life. In order to preserve optimum taste and freshness, plan to shop for coffee at least every few weeks. Always store ground and whole bean coffee in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. We do not recommend storing coffee in the refrigerator or freezer as moisture and odors may affect freshness and flavor. Coffees should be stored at room temperature under airtight conditions. Please ask your Boyer’s representative for recommended storage.

Grinding
To ensure maximum taste and freshness, grind only what you need for each brewing. Whether grinding in the store or at home, match grinder setting and time to desired strength for rich, flavorful coffee.
Desired Strength (Setting):
Flavored (Perculator); Mild (Auto Drip); Medium (Fine); Strong(Espresso).
Setting(Time)
Perculator (5-10 sec.); Auto Drip (10-15 sec.); Fine (15-20 sec.); Espresso (20-25 sec.).
